Ajay Devgn is known for his serious personality. However, his on-point comic timing in films is loved by millions. While his demeanour might come off as a bit rude, he is known for playing pranks on his co-stars and cracking jokes. However, once, Ajay Devgn’s prank on his co-actor’s wife made her commit suicide. The news resurfaced on Reddit, which led to netizens brutally bashing the Ishq actor.
Ajay Devgn once made his co-star’s wife almost commit suicide
Ajay Devgn is known for playing pranks on the sets. In a 2018 interview with the Mid-Day, Ajay Devgn had accepted that once his prank had gone horribly wrong. He stated that there was one of his co-stars, who had just then gotten married. His wife was from a small town and didn’t know much about the film industry. He would keep telling her that her husband is having an affair and there are no night shoots. He said:
“Years ago, there was this actor, who had just gotten married, and brought along his wife along for an outdoor shoot. The girl was from outside the [film] industry — a simple girl, from a small town. We used to shoot at night. She would obviously meet her husband in the mornings. We would keep feeding the wife that her husband is having an affair. And that, in the night, he goes off somewhere. There are no night shoots! I’d tell her that I return to my room at 10.30 [pm].”

Ajay stated that his co-actor’s wife never believed him and knew that he was playing a prank on her. He kept playing the prank for eight days. However, on the ninth day, in the morning, he got to know that she had taken pills and had been rushed to the hospital. Sharing the story, Ajay revealed:
“She’d tell me that she’s heard all about [my pranks]. That she trusts her husband. This carried on for eight days. On the ninth day, we woke up and learnt that she had actually taken pills, had to be rushed to the hospital. She’d been fighting with her husband over this, throughout, checking with him on what the hell he’d been up to!”

Recently, the news was resurfaced on Reddit, and netizens brutally bashed Ajay Devgn for playing such an insensitive prank. One user wrote, “The fact that he’s opening up about it like it’s a brag is in itself fuc*** up. Sometimes it’s better to cut it out and let go of the prank instead of it turning into a serious thing.” One of the netizens guessed that it was Vir Das’ wife and the film they were shooting was Shivaay in 2015.
