Jo and Kevin Taylor have been married for nearly six decades and are each other’s best friends. In honor of Valentine’s Day, the couple was selected by TODAY for their ambush makeover, which left them unable to recognize each other thanks to the transformation.

Their love story is special. They met as teenagers and have never left each other’s side. Jo was 14 when she met 17-year-old Kevin, and their union has produced five children and 14 grandchildren. However, the couple’s style still seemed to be stuck in the ’70s, and the news outlet hoped to fix that.
Couple of 50 years unrecognizable after stunning makeover transformation
Being Bikers, Jo and Kevin still wear baggy clothes and scruffy hair without caring about dynamic fashion trends. With stylists like Louis Licari and style squad member Jill Martins of the Ambush Makeover series, the couple fell in love with their new look at the end of the episode. “I have to tell you, I have never seen a couple after 49 years so in love,” Louis confessed. “And so incredibly pleased with the simple things in life.”

Kevin kept a long beard, which Jo had not been a fan of for a while, and was excited at the possibility of the hair going off. “I can just imagine what you’re going to do to me,” he joked. Thankfully, Louis and Jill both achieved a satisfactory new look without completely eroding their biker background. “Oh my gosh! Are you kidding me? That’s not even me. Who is that? Oh, I look absolutely gorgeous!” Jo said when she looked in the mirror.
Kevin looks like a different person, with his beard trimmed short. He steps out in a black suit and tie, holding a bouquet of red roses for Jo, who asks, “Who are you?” I can’t believe it. You’re so handsome!” she exclaimed, after which Kevin turned to the mirror and was taken aback by his reflection.
Jo went from underwhelming to stunning, with her hair in soft natural highlights that matched her chic outfit. She wore black pants and a matching top underneath a long-sleeved jacket with fur detailing at the collar. The lovebirds shared a warm embrace as they set out to their new fashionable phase.
