Resurrection

 I went to the tomb

to try and purge my ears

of the shouts and all the jeers

That day was awful

but now the dawn

I went to the tomb

to try to do... something

an act of care, and anointing

but He was gone

I went to the tomb

Thinking, was there a way

a kindness, roll the stone away

but it was done

I went to the tomb

in the morning, could I see

the place, but it was empty

and it was dawn

I went to the tomb

unsure and out of breath

from the running, where was death?

and the pain

I went to the tomb

in hope beyond belief

for a place beyond the grief

just the cloths remained

I went to the tomb

Just when all seemed lost

I could never pay the cost

but then I heard my name...
